Billy, the Co-Owner and Head Chef was born in NYC but grew up in Thailand, his passion for cooking Thai Cuisine with amazing flavors stems from watching his parents cooking in their restaurants. He started cooking for his family when he was 12 years old and worked for his family’s restaurants for over 15 years. Along with being the Head Chef at Mai Thai he loves to bartend. He enjoys creating new and innovative dishes and cocktails. His favorite dish at Mai Thai is the Duck Tacos.
Billy’s Partner is his long time friend and lover of Thai Food, Debbie. Born and raised in New York, Debbie has owned multiple businesses. She met Billy when he was her Head Bartender at Club Nirvana. Debbie recently explored her love for Thai cuisine by visiting Thailand, where she took cooking lessons from Samui Institute of Thai Culinary Arts. She cooked side by side with other restaurant owners, receiving lessons from chefs with over 40 years of experience. Debbie’s inspiration for opening Mai Thai was to bring Asian Fusion with a Modern Twist to Downtown Orlando for everyone to enjoy!
